Day 1: Gangtok-Yuksom, drive, 138kms, 7 hours. Yuksom: altitude: 1,740meters.
A drive on unfrequented traffic through a meandering Himalayan road, terraced farmland, deep forest, cardamom field, streams and rivulets, hanging bridge. Arrive Yuksom, a valley surrounded by hills covered with dense forest. Halt at Hotel.

Day 2: Yuksom trek Bakhim, 12kms and 6 hours. Bakhim altitude: 2,743meters. Altitude gain: 1003 meters. The trail leads through an undulating climb later reach Perekchu Bridge from where the steep climb of 1 hour runs through the Rhododendron trees, arrive Bakhim with a forest cover of Oak, Birch, Magnolia, and Bamboo. Bakhim attracts plenty of birds such as magpie, robins, honey sucker, Flycatchers, sunbirds, etc. Halt Hut or Tented camp.

Day 3: Trek Bakhim – Tshoka 2kms. 1hour, Bakhim altitude: 2,743meters.Ashoka: 3048meters.Altitude gains: 305 meters. Tshoka is a small village that provides a view of Mount Pandim and other smaller peaks. Tshoka to Phedang trail is full of moss-laden Rhododendron trees with birds such as Satyrragopan, Rose Finch, Blood Pheasant, and Himalayan Black Bear, Red panda. The trail further moves up with Silver fur trees later vanishes substituting Rhododendron bushes. Halt Hut or Tented camp.

Day 4: Tshoka trek Dzongri, 9kms. 5 hours. Dzongri: 4030meters. Altitude gain: 982 meters. Now one gets into the thick Rhododendron forest later a steep climb up to Deorali Dara rewards with utmost beauty of Mountain peaks such as Mt. Kanchendzong, Mount Pandim, Rathong Peak, Mount Kabru, Goechala Peak, Jopuno, Thingchenkhang, Black Kabur, Simvo, Narsing, etc. Another 10minutes walk takes to Dzongri. Halt Hut or Tented camp.

Day 5: Dzongri Halt – Excursion to Dzongrila situated at 4,500meters.
Dzongrila provides a scintillating view of Rathong Glacier, Kabru Dome, Freys Peak, Talung and treks back to Dzongri Camp. Halt Hut or Tented camp.
Day 6: Trek Dzongri – Thangsing, 6kms, and 4 hours, Thangsing: 3,639meters. Altitude Gain: Minus183meters.The trail begins with dune type of climb Thereafter descends through dense Rhododendron bushes, arrive Perek River later little climb through Silver fur forest reach Thangsing. Thangsing is a valley. It provides a good view of mountain peaks. Halt Hut or Tented camp.
Day 7: Trek Thangsing – Samiti Lake, camp at Lamune., 6 km, 3 hours, Samiti Lake: 4,453meters. Altitude Gain: 462meters.Early in the morning, Thangsing Deorali Dara provides a beautiful view of Mt. Kanchendzonga. Halt Hut or Tented camp.
Day 8: Trek Lamune – Goechala-Samiti-Thangsing. Total walking distance: 13kms, 7 hours. Goechala: 4,940meters.Early in the morning, we depart for Goechala through barren land, moraines and nearby
Parallel to the trail on the left side, Talung Glacier. Near Goechala the sound of icefall gives an
Extraordinary thrill. Before swirling clouds cover the area we descend to Samiti Lake and further trek back to Thangsing. Halt Hut or Tented camp.
Day 9: Thangsing trek back to Dzongri. Halt Hut or Tented camp.

Everest Singalila Trek
Durations: 9 Nights / 10 Days

Day 1: Kathmandu? Bhadrapur? Gangtok. Pick up at Bhadrapur, Transfer to Gangtok, overnight at Hotel Norkhil / The Royal Plaza / Sonam Palgay.
Day 2: Gangtok Local sightseeing including Rumtek Monastery.
Day 3: Gangtok? Hee-Gaun, overnight at Hee-Gaun, Dinner and local Cultural Programme in the evening.
Day 4: Early in the morning at 8:00 am after breakfast trek to Varshney at an altitude of 10,000 ft, about 5 hours trek. Overnight Varshey Camp / Trekkers Hut.
Day 5: Early morning at 8:00 am after breakfast trek starts from Varshey to Deonigale Dhap. It ?s around 6 hours trek to an altitude of approximate 10,000 ft. From here Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga Range, and Bhutan peaks are also seen, overnight camping at Deonigale Dhap.
Day 6: Early morning after breakfast trek starts to Phokte approximate 6 hours trek at an altitude of 14,000 ft, hot lunch served on the way. Overnight camping at Phuket.
Day 7: As usual breakfast at 8:00 am and then trek starts to Uttarey, which is of 11kms about 6 hours trek via Chiwabhangyang and Chitre. Hot lunch will be provided on the way. Overnight camping at Uttarey.
Day 8: Early morning at 8:00 am after breakfast, drive to Darjeeling via Dentam, Hee Burmek, Kaluk, Soreng, and Naya Bazaar. Overnight Darjeeling Hotel New Elgin or Mayfair Resort.
Day 9: Early morning at 4:00 am after tea, departure to Tiger Hill for the sunrise view to Mt. Kanchenjunga Range. After Sunrise view visit to Yoga Choling a Buddhist Monastery at Ghoom, which is also known as Ghoom Monastery. After visiting this monastery visit to Batasia Loop and back to the hotel, fresh- up and have breakfast. After breakfast at 9:00 am a departure for Toy train rides for about one hour. Return back to the hotel for lunch.

After lunch visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park and Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre. Back to the Hotel, have tea and free for marketing or stroll around.
Day 10: One day can be extended for Darjeeling or else departure at 6:00 am to Bhadrapur to fly Kathmandu via Kurseong, visiting tea processing at Makaibari Tea Estate. Packed breakfast served on the way. If the time permits hot lunch will be provided at Marina’s Restaurant at Bagdogra.

Short Trek
This trek covers the higher reaches of the Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary in the Eastern Himalayas, which is famous for the flowers, and spectacular mountain views of Kanchenjunga and Everest. The highlights of this trek start with the campaign in dense Oak forest amidst the calls of the barking deer’s and wild birds. The trials are rich in floral diversity and especially in spring in rhododendrons are in full bloom with their white, yellow, pink, and crimson red bell-shaped blossoms. In Barclay one passes through dense thickets of rhododendrons below the Tal mountain ridge laden with conifer forest of silver fir and hemlock. The trek winds its way through the source of two rivers, which originate from moist grassy meadows. After Thulo Dhaap the trail climbs up to the Shingalia Ridge and from phokety one can experience the sunrise on Everest and Kanchendzong the highest and third peaks in the world.

Barsey or Varsey is a small town in the north-eastern state of Sikkim in India. Located at an altitude of 10,000ft, Barsey is renowned for its Rhododendron Sanctuary. For the lovers of varied flora, a visit to Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary would actually be a delightful experience. The sanctuary falls in the West Sikkim district and can be accessible by road via Hilley, Dentam or Soreng from Geyzing. If you want to try trekking, it would be an amazing idea to proceed up (4 km) the hill from Hilley.

Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary is to be found in Singalila Range, a natural border with Nepal. Sedalia Range is acclaimed to be the leading area of rhododendrons. Varsey is an ideal gateway to spend a relaxing time amidst snow-capped mountains and aromatic flowers providing a refreshing and soothing atmosphere. Varsey Sanctuary also makes an unusual trekking destination in Sikkim. From the months of November to May, the flowers appear in their best form and it is also regarded as the best time to visit this sanctuary.

During springtime, Rhododendrons blossom here covering the whole terrain with colors and lovely fragrance. It’s surprising to know that you can find 600 varieties of rhododendrons, out of 1000 (varieties are known) in Sikkim. Sprawled in an area of 104 sq. km, the sanctuary is a domicile to numerous species of Rhododendron, Primula, Magnolia, oaks, and pine. Not only this, Barsey is rich in both flora and fauna. Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary is also renowned for embracing rare Himalayan species of Red Panda and Black Bear.

Leopard, Leopard Cat, Marbled Cat, Himalayan Yellow Throated Marten, Himalayan Palm Civet, Canidae Wild dog, Indian Fox, Jackal, Himalayan Black Bear, Wild Boar, Red Panda, Barking Deer, Serow, Assamese Macaque, Rhesus Macaque, Himalayan Langur, Crimson Horned Pheasant, Monal Pheasant and Khaleej Pheasant, Crestless Porcupine, Rufous Tailed Hare, Chinese Pangolin, Flying Squirrel, Giant Squirrel and Himalayan Mouse Hare are some of the faunal values of Barsey Sanctuary.

Some of the species of Rhododendron that can be easily seen in the sanctuary are an arboretum, cinnabarine, Falconeri, barbatum, campanulate Hodgson, Acer caudatum, Betula utilize, Pieris ovalifolia, Prunus rufa, Pyrus foliolosa, and P. macrophylla. Here, Bamboo and varieties of shrubs are also traceable. The vegetation in the area is dense and sometimes, you can see layers of a variety of plants.
